Extreme resolution meets extreme speed.

When Nikon launched the D800 and D800E, it set a new standard for DSLR image quality and ultra-high-resolution photography, nearly reaching medium format levels. Now, five years later, Nikon proudly unveils the next step in high-resolution DSLRs, a camera capable of capturing fast action at an impressive 45.7 megapixels. With significant advancements across multiple areas—sensor technology, autofocus, dynamic range, ISO sensitivity, Speedlight control, battery life, shutter and mirror mechanisms, Silent Photography in Live View mode, focus shift capability, and more—this may be the most versatile and powerful DSLR Nikon has created yet.

Higher Resolution. Faster Speed. Greater Versatility.

The D850 puts staggering image quality and impressive performance within reach of working photographers everywhere.

Precision at Every Turn

Fast continuous shooting, flagship autofocus and precise metering.

153 Point AF System

With 153 focus points, 99 cross-type sensors and a dedicated AF processor, the D850 combines the best of flagship AF technology so that you can be assured that your high resolution images are as sharp as can be.

Autofocus Down to -4 EV

Focus in near darkness down to -4 EV to capture moody low-light scenes. Suddenly, fast Nikkor primes and zooms can handle even lower light than before.

120 fps Slow-Motion

Transform dramatic moments into dazzling fluid slow-motion sequences. Record 4x (shoot at 120p, playback at 30/25p) or 5x (shoot at 120p, playback at 24p) slow-motion at 1080p.

Ellie S. ★★★★★

Finally upgraded from my old D800 and the dynamic range improvement is incredible — I can pull details from deep shadows that were just noise before. The touchscreen on live view makes precise focus adjustments so much faster than before.

Mia ★★★★★

The autofocus system locks onto birds in flight faster than I expected, and the 45.7 megapixel files give me so much cropping room in post. Battery life has been solid even after a full day of shooting.

Violet B. ★★★★★

Moving from a D810, the buffer depth on this body is a game-changer for shooting action in high resolution. I can rip off 9 fps for nearly 50 raw frames before it slows down, which is incredible. The 45.7 megapixel sensor delivers the same insane detail I was used to, but with noticeably better dyna
