The grain structure on this 160-speed film is incredibly smooth, making my medium format scans look almost like digital files. I was blown away by how naturally the skin tones rendered in a recent outdoor portrait session.

Shot my first roll of Portra 160 in 120 for some outdoor portraits and the grain is barely there, even when I blow the scans up past 16x20. Skin tones come out smooth and natural without much editing, which is exactly why I keep buying it.

This is my go-to for medium format portraits now; the grain is so fine that even big scans look smooth. I wish it came with a bit more contrast straight out of the box, but the color balance is incredibly natural and easy to work with in post.
