This lens is incredibly sharp even wide open at 200mm, and the autofocus locks on fast enough to track birds in flight. The constant f/2.8-4 aperture lets me shoot handheld in lower light than I ever could with my older zoom.

Shot this on a rainy afternoon and the f/2.8 aperture kept everything sharp even in dim light, plus the Leica glass renders colors beautifully. The Power O.I.S. made handheld video surprisingly steady, so I didn't need a tripod at all.

The zoom ring has just the right amount of resistance for smooth, precise adjustments, and the images stay tack sharp even wide open at 200mm. I've been carrying it on hikes for wildlife shots and the constant f/2.8-4 range gives me plenty of flexibility without swapping lenses.
