DJI RS 4 Mini

The quick-release plate makes switching between gimbal and tripod shots effortless, and the motor handles my Sony A7C without breaking a sweat. Battery life easily got me through a full afternoon of shooting.

It fits in my jacket pocket when folded, which makes it way too easy to bring along on hikes I’d normally skip. The auto-lock held the gimbal steady through a rough trail run, and the footage came out looking like I was on rails.

The auto-lock on the motors is a lifesaver when I'm hiking between shots, and it folds down small enough to fit in my backpack's side pocket. I've been getting silky smooth footage walking backwards on trails, which my old rig could never handle.
