The zoom ring is smooth and precise, making it easy to track fast-moving subjects. I’ve been getting sharp shots even at the long end, which surprised me for a lens in this price range.

I’ve been using this lens mostly for birding and the reach at 300mm is exactly what I needed—the zoom ring turns smoothly enough to track a heron mid-flight without jitter. For the price, the sharpness at the long end surprised me, even wide open.
